Post 4: Roofing & Flooring
Hi, welcome to our fourth of several blog posts detailing the construction of our brand new 8 chair purpose built dental facility. The momentum has continued on site since the previous blog post with the roofing and flooring complete. Several internal elements are also well underway including the plumbing and ducting for the air conditioning. We have shown some of our staff around and they’re very excited to move in! (see the last photo below)
From our perspective the construction thus far has been quite smooth with Optima dealing with any issues and problems onsite. Testament to this is that we were able to take our staff to Vegas for our 10th anniversary celebrations without worrying about what was happening onsite. This is the benefit of having a builder with industry specific knowledge.
Further, we recently received a call from Optima to confirm that certain rooms were to be setup in a left hand or ambidextrous configuration. This is important as the plumbing needs to be laid out depending on the configuration and getting this wrong can be hugely problematic when coming to install the dental chairs. Additionally, Optima were able to liaise directly with our equipment provider (Romesh from Dentsply Sirona) to ensure the positioning of the chairs will be correct. Again, this reflects the importance of using people with industry specific knowledge.
